TU Dublin will host the Self-Employment for Persons with Disabilities conference on Thursday, 3 September 2026, bringing together disabled entrepreneurs, policymakers, international experts and support organisations to examine how self-employment can become a more accessible and supported career pathway.
Sponsored by Workday, the full-day conference will take place at TU Dublin’s East Quad (Concert Hall), Dublin 7, from 9am to 5pm. The event is hosted by the Centre for Entrepreneurial Behaviour, Inclusion and Innovation (CEBII) at TU Dublin and aims to address the barriers that can prevent disabled people from pursuing entrepreneurship.
The conference will provide a forum for participants to share lived experiences, discuss the challenges faced by disabled entrepreneurs and examine the systems and structures surrounding self-employment.
By bringing together people with direct experience alongside policymakers, researchers and support organisations, the event aims to encourage practical discussion about how entrepreneurship support can become more inclusive.
The conference is intended to contribute to a wider conversation about creating an environment in which self-employment is a genuine option for people with disabilities across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
