Course Description
Audit Committees - Role and Evaluation
Audit Committees are an integral part of the corporate governance framework of today s public sector. Generally the purpose of an audit committee is to review an organisation s corporate governance, internal control environment, risk management and financial statements and provide support to and monitor the work of the internal auditors. Depending on the sector the committees report on their work to either a board of directors, a Secretary General of a government department or, in the case of local authorities, to the Council.
