Go on to state any experience that you have that pertains to the job, such as working with computers or operating a cash register. Tell the employer why you think you would be good at the job – e.g. your outgoing personality would be seen as an important asset for a sales position.
It is also essential to write a cover letter if you are applying to a company “on spec” – that is, you haven’t seen a position advertised but you want to send in your details anyway. In this case, state what area you would like to work in and why you think you would be good at it.
